POSITION OVERVIEW

Believe it or not, Clear Channel Radio - New Orleans played a leading and integral part in helping save humanity during one of the worst natural disasters to ever hit this country - Hurricane Katrina.

Clear Channel Radio – New Orleans is currently seeking a motivated Digital Sales Manager for its cluster sales operations. This position will be responsible for developing, brainstorming and executing creative integrated media presentations and campaigns for advertisers which connect and engage consumers through various Clear Channel media assets including radio, online, mobile and promotional activations.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maximize revenue and client sponsorship opportunities through integrated programs developed between Sales, Programming, Promotion and Internet departments.
  • Lead with creativity, coach, motivate and train sellers that are not direct reports in achieving specific Integrated Media budgets.
  • Communicate; brainstorm and problem solve integrated media campaigns with sales management and other department heads to achieve goals.
  • Collaborate with each GSM to achieve their IM/Online budgets through training, package development and strategic planning. Initiate new revenue projects that will benefit the local station brands. Introduce and train latest product offerings.

REQUIREMENTS

  • 3+ years of sales and/or management experience with a proven track record of achieving budgets.
  • Experience in digital media preferred.
  • Excellent problem solving, communication, and planning skills.
  • Must have the ability to influence, persuade and clearly communicate both in writing and verbally.
  • Excellent attention to detail, flawless execution, driven to succeed and accomplish goals.
  • Knowledge and experience in building successful integrated media campaigns.
  • Knowledge and understanding of online and new media technology and future industry trends.
  • Excellent Organizational, Leadership and Interpersonal Skills.
  • Ability to work with others, multi task, and execute in a fast-paced and changing environment.

SALES ASSISTANT

IT SPECIALIST

Summary

Acts as primary support regarding hardware or software issues, as well as provides backup and assistance to station broadcast engineering efforts. Ensuring all computer equipment, servers and networks are functional by performing the following duties for Clear Channel Radio New Orleans.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provides technical support coverage to end users for assigned area.
  • Orders, repairs and upgrades computer equipment and software.
  • Acts as liaison between OEM vendors and end users.
  • Trains users in PC and software operations.
  • Purchases required hardware and software, approves invoices.
  • Performs regular backups of in house server.
  • Correspond with upper management regarding computer security issues, hazards, upgrades and outages that affect the assigned region.
  • Ensure that employees are able to use PCs and log-on network.
  • Regulates and enforces established company guidelines and procedures for computer usage.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Education and/or Experience

  • Active Directory knowledge required.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent, a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related discipline is preferred.
  • Windows 95/98/2000/ME, NT & XP.

Certifications, Licenses or Registration

  • A+ Certification

Technical Skills

  • PC troubleshooting
  • MS Office products
  • Active Directory
  • Advanced Windows/PC knowledge and troubleshooting
  • Maintenance and support of Network systems

Physical Requirements

The employee is frequently required to lift and carry up to twenty five pounds and occasionally required to lift and carry up to fifty pounds.

Work Environment

The work environment is mostly in an office setting, but may require some outside work assisting radio engineers at remotes or transmitter sites.

GENERAL SALES MANAGER

GENERAL SALES MANAGER-New Orleans Cluster

  • Attain overall revenue and market share goals.
  • Direct sales forecasting activities and set performance goals accordingly.
  • Manage sales team and maximize revenues through inventory management and serving customer needs.
  • Review market analysis to determine customer needs, price schedules and discount rates.
  • Oversee efforts of sales team by reviewing sales proposals and negotiating with clients.
  • Monitor sales progress and report such to Director of Sales.
  • Conceptualize and execute marketing programs and client services.
  • Develop, implement and communicate sales strategies and action plans.
  • Analyze and report to upper management regarding station and market revenue activity.
  • Hire, coach, train, counsel and motivate sales team.
  • Develop and enhance skills of National and Local Sales Managers.
  • Conduct sales staff meetings.
  • Assist in collection of accounts receivable.
  • Manage inventory and rates through coordination with the Traffic Department.
  • Attend and participate in trade shows/community organization events.

Required Skills/Education & Certification:

  • College degree preferred.
  • Two years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Understanding of broadcasting, pricing inventory, ratings, marketing, promotion and collection standard.
  • Extensive knowledge of sales principles and practices.
  • Excellent leadership, negotiating and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently or in team setting.
  • Ability to handle stress, deadlines and related financial pressures.
  • Valid driver’s license and state mandated automobile insurance.

PART-TIME BOARD OPERATORS, CALL SCREENERS, AND AIR TALENT
Clear Channel Radio New Orleans is accepting submissions for possible future part-time on-air talent, board operators, call screeners, and air talent.

On-Air Talent responsibilities include performance consistent with format and direction given by Program Director(s). Air talent must be available to work weekends, holidays and occasional vacation fill-in. Qualifications include 2 or more years of on-air experience and knowledge of FCC rules and regulations. 

For board operator submissions, prior experience preferred but not necessary. For on-air submissions, experience in Urban and Urban Adult Contemporary is preferable.

TTN OPENINGS FOR PART-TIME POSITIONS

The Total Traffic Network, the traffic reporting arm of Clear Channel Radio of New Orleans, is accepting submissions for possible future openings, including part-time traffic producers and mobile reporters. Responsibilities for the producer include gathering traffic information and entering the material into the Clear Channel Traffic website. Responsibilities for the mobile reporter include driving station vehicles and reporting on traffic conditions. A knowledge of the major traffic arteries in the New Orleans area is a plus. Candidates for the mobile reporter positions must also have a valid drivers license. Hours will be as fill-in and as needed.
